Occubee and Envirly join forces for sustainable inventory management

Occubee and Envirly have become business partners. Together, they aim to support the optimization of inventory management while incorporating ESG goals in retail. The synergy between both companies is expected to help retailers achieve both economic and environmental benefits.

Envirly it is a Polish technology company offering an innovative platform for managing sustainability, the carbon footprint of organizations and products. The platform enables businesses to continuously monitor and analyze their environmental impact, generate non-financial reports, and implement decarbonization initiatives aimed at green transformation – while simultaneously delivering a positive economic return on investment.

Occubee, on the other hand, is a SaaS system for dynamic inventory management in stores and warehouses. It leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning models to forecast sales and demand. By performing advanced analysis of data from across the entire supply chain, it generates insights that ensure optimal product availability throughout the retail network. This allows retailers to reduce out-of-stocks and overstocks, while increasing full-price sales.

The goal of the collaboration between Occubee and Envirly is to support retailers in optimizing inventory management processes in line with sustainable development principles. The synergy between the two companies’ solutions offers a more effective response to challenges such as:

  • collecting, processing, and controlling vast amounts of data to meet the requirements of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS),
  • ongoing analysis and management of environmental risks,
  • costly and high-emission logistics, including product transportation from suppliers (especially in Asia and the Middle East) and distribution to stores,
  • losses caused by product surpluses that lead to waste or disposal – for example, due to expired food items or overstocked seasonal fashion products,
  • the need to optimize inventory levels and increase product turnover to reduce warehousing costs.

According to EU regulations, starting in 2024, publicly listed companies with over 500 employees are required to report sustainability data, including their carbon footprint. In the following years, this obligation will directly apply to all large businesses and indirectly to companies within their value chains. At the same time, public awareness around ESG is growing, and customers increasingly expect companies to take meaningful actions focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.

As a result, carbon footprint reporting is becoming not only a regulatory requirement but also a way to build a competitive advantage and a desirable brand image in the eyes of customers. It can also significantly facilitate communication with business partners and stakeholders – especially those who will demand ongoing GHG (Greenhouse Gas) reporting.

The implementation of the Envirly system enables the generation of reports on, among other things, the emissions associated with individual products, product groups, and the entire organization. Insights and recommendations derived from these reports support effective business decision-making aimed at reducing the carbon footprint. At the same time, product emission data can be integrated into Occubee and influence the results it generates. The system can, for example, suggest:

  • which products, in what quantities, and from which supplier should be ordered for the warehouse to reduce the risk of surplus high-emission items;
  • how to stock individual stores across the network to increase product turnover, thereby reducing emissions related to longer storage times;
  • which products to exclude from inter-store transfers in order to avoid increasing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.

The integration of Occubee and Envirly solutions enables retailers to simultaneously optimize stock levels in warehouses and stores while reducing the organization’s carbon footprint – in a dynamic and flexible way. This approach allows companies to begin making ESG-driven changes where large financial or human resource investments are not required, yet where the actual impact on carbon emissions can be effectively monitored and measured.
