The Food Market and Retail Forum is an event aimed at representatives of the FMCG sector and solution providers for this industry. It is addressed to leaders and experts representing traditional and modern retail chains, wholesalers, producers, and food and beverage processors. During the conference, a series of debates take place on key topics from the perspective of the food industry, retail, and consumers.

This year’s edition of the forum featured Kamil Folkert, CEO of Occubee. He appeared on the Innovation & Tech Talks stage alongside special guest Michał Mazur, Head of Supply Chain and Operations Excellence at Lisek.app.
Together, they discussed how artificial intelligence supports sales forecasting and automated stock replenishment. During their conversation, they shared insights and best practices from the implementation of Occubee at Lisek.app. They addressed topics related to:
- the role of AI in the e-grocery market,
- the impact of artificial intelligence on the way data is processed and analyzed,
- the challenges that led Lisek.app to implement the Occubee system,
- the adoption of advanced technological solutions within the organization,
- the business benefits that can be achieved with the support of artificial intelligence.

Michał Mazur explained that the decision to collaborate with Occubee was driven by the company’s rapid growth – the increasing number of so-called dark stores, products, suppliers, and the ever-growing sales dynamics. Additionally, manual data analysis in Excel created limitations, such as the scope of the data being analyzed and the ability to account for external factors like holidays or weather. Overcoming these limitations with the AI-based system allowed the Lisek.app team to gain more control over their supply chain processes while optimizing them.
Kamil Folkert highlighted two fundamental aspects of the Occubee implementation at Lisek.app: technology and people. Speaking about technology, he reminded the audience that Occubee operates in a SaaS model, utilizing cloud technology provided by Microsoft Azure, which ensures scalability, reliability, and security. At the same time, he pointed out that it is in the hands of people where technology truly gains value. Therefore, the engagement of teams on both sides is crucial for the successful adoption of AI-based solutions and for them to bring real business benefits.
The key benefits resulting from the implementation of Occubee at Lisek.app were highlighted as follows:
- increased stock availability,
- reduction of capital tied up in inventory,
- decrease in the quantity and value of food wasted due to expiration.
In the session summary, Kamil Folkert and Michał Mazur once again emphasized the importance of people in implementing and adopting AI in business. Artificial intelligence will not replace experts; rather, it will free up their time so they can focus on tasks that require their particular skills, knowledge, and creativity.
We would like to thank both the in-person and online participants for listening to the discussion and taking part in the Q&A session.
