Merkury S.A. is a Polish company with over 20 years of history, a leader in the distribution of healthy food, medicines, and dietary supplements. It imports products from around the world and supplies them to 35,000 customers. The company collaborates with nearly 400 suppliers and operates across modern, traditional, pharmaceutical, and e-commerce channels. On its B2B platform for online shopping, Merkury S.A. offers a product range of over 7,000 items.
The goal of the cooperation between Occubee and Merkury S.A. is to optimize warehouse inventory and align stock levels with actual market demand. This will help prevent excess inventory in the warehouse and the freezing of capital in slow-moving products, while also increasing sales of the products most popular among the distributor’s customers.
Stocking the warehouse based on accurate demand forecasts will enable the reduction of overstocking. Monitoring and analyzing inventory levels will allow for proactive and dynamic responses to demand changes, including ordering products from suppliers with the appropriate lead time and in the right quantities.
The aim is to ensure the proper availability of products in the warehouse, which will allow for meeting current demand and maintaining optimal stock levels. This will eliminate situations where out-of-stock items result in lost sales. On the other hand, the right product availability will ensure a high service level in fulfilling B2B customer orders.
With the implementation of the Demand Management module, the Merkury S.A. team will be able to use automatically generated demand forecasts, stock requirements, and supplier orders. The results provided by the system will be based on a comprehensive and detailed analysis of data and variables, conducted using the latest technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Demand forecasts will be generated using machine learning models, built and trained based on customer data and parameters tailored to the specifics of their business. Based on the forecast results and information about inventory levels, Occubee will generate warehouse demands. In the next step, the system will take into account the size of the warehouse demands and additional variables, such as logistical and purchasing minima, supplier lead times, and generate orders for suppliers.
Thanks to the automation of these processes, the company’s experts will be able to focus on monitoring the generated results, saving time on calculations.
We thank the Merkury S.A. team for their trust and decision to start this cooperation. We look forward to seeing the first results of the implementation. We are confident that with the commitment of both parties to this process, we will achieve real business value in the shortest possible time.
