Implementation of projects co-financed by European Funds

Occubee S.A. is implementing a project entitled “Development of innovative AI functions for demand forecasting in retail and fashion,” co-financed by the European Funds for a Modern Economy.

The objective of the project is the further enhancement of the Occubee system, which already utilizes advanced analytics and artificial intelligence mechanisms. The project involves the development of new features based on proven and practical AI methods tailored to the specific requirements of the retail industry. Its implementation will both expand the system’s capabilities and exert a tangible impact on the operations of modern retail—specifically in the areas of demand management, replenishment, and sales planning.

As part of the project, research and development activities will be conducted, covering:

  • Automation of forecasting model creation.
  • Development of methods for forecasting under limited data conditions.
  • Advancement of sophisticated recommendation models.
  • Enhancement of explainability for generated forecasts and the decisions they support.

The project focuses on the development of proven AI methods used in predictive analytics, serving as a natural extension of the platform’s current capabilities.

The primary beneficiaries of the project’s outcomes will be retail enterprises, including multi-channel retail chains and companies operating in the fashion segment that face high assortment turnover and volatile market trends.

The project will result in:

  • Increased accuracy of demand forecasts.
  • Reduced system implementation times.
  • Improved efficiency of operational decisions.
  • Broadened practical application of advanced, non-generative artificial intelligence in the retail and fashion sectors.

Occubee S.A. is carrying out a project titled “SupplAI system for automation and optimization of supply chain planning, using methods of computational intelligence – including sales forecasting – for online analysis of very large data sets, minimizing losses and maximizing operational efficiency of retail companies” under the Intelligent Development Operational Program (Sub-measure 1.1.1. Industrial research and development work conducted by enterprises).

The aim of the SupplAI project is to develop a system that automates and optimizes a group of business processes related to supply chain planning. The system is designed for large and medium-sized distribution networks that trade through multiple sales channels. These networks have a hierarchical structure of distribution points (distribution centers, warehouses, stores) and planning the flow and demand of goods at each distribution point of the network is one of the key tasks affecting the efficiency of the entire organization. The main focus of the system is on improving the efficiency of the processes: integration of sales channels (online and offline), business monitoring (KPI – Key Performance Indicators), strategic planning (ordering goods to warehouses based on demand and sales forecasts at all levels of the organization), forecasting returns of goods, monitoring and detecting global (i.e. concerning a group of points of sale, e.g. areas, but also market trends, e.g. product reviews) and local trends of sales changes.

Value of EU funding: 4 996 273,03 PLN
Implementation period: 2021 – 2023

Project co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Intelligent Development Program. Project implemented under the “Fast Track” competition of the National Center for Research and Development.
